The University of Maryland Department of Emergency Medicine (UMEM) is a nationally recognized academic emergency medicine program located in Baltimore, Maryland. UMEM delivers exceptional emergency care while advancing the field through cutting-edge research, innovative education, and a deep commitment to community.
Our faculty are leaders in emergency medicine research, with active programs spanning health equity, EMS, ultrasound, and simulation. UMEM is home to a highly competitive residency program and a robust portfolio of fellowships, training the next generation of emergency physicians and subspecialists.
